There’s no question that job search when you’re near, at, or over age 50 is an entirely different scenario than when you were 35.
The problem is one of perception: some employers perceive mature, experienced candidates through a stereotypical lens. The assumption is that at this point in your professional trajectory, you may not be looking for anything too difficult, and you’re more interested in coasting through until retirement, than in doing anything else.
